I left a request for info on interesting marine sights with no replies, so I don't know how many will read this, but the Cairo museum in Vicksburg is worth the money. The Cairo is a Civil War ironclad that was sunk in the war and raised in recent times.
Also interesting was the lock system on the Mississippi.
