    E29 - increasing cockpit drainage

I sailed out the Golden Gate in a friend's Tayana 37, and steep 10' waves right out the gate were a definite wake-up call for me. My E29 (tiller model) has only one small drain in the cockpit; not nearly enough. I'm considering cutting one or two fairly large drains through the transom...

    E26 Scupper thru hulls

Finally found the source of the water that continually collects in the bilge of my 87 E26. It is the plastic fittings that go thru the transom. Does anyone know the hole size and the hose size? Should I go with bronze?

    Cross-strapped above DWL scupper throughhulls

    Scupper Drain Hoses

On a E-35 Mk III does anyone have an idea why two of the scupper drain hoses go to a "T" and then go to a below the water line through hull to drain? Doesn't seem to make sense that they would drain below the water line. This is in the context of winter storage in the water. Thanks, John...

Cockpit scupper on E27 with cutaway transom

I've got one of the E27s with the cutaway transom. After reading through all the threads concerning cockpit scuppers, connecting hoses, and seacocks, I was almost disappointed to find that my boat has only one cockpit scupper. But it's probably not a problem because any big water in the...

    plugged scupper

Im a noobie to sailing and have recently aquired an Ericson 23 as my first boat. After a heavy rain I went to take the boat out only to be greeted with a cockpit full of water. The water also overflowed into the cabin! I was able to thread a piece of cable through the scupper grate so I am...

    E27 Scupper reroute?

After a full weekend of swearing and bloodying my knuckles I finally have the rusted exhaust riser and cockpit scupper hoses removed from the boat. The original scupper hoses needed replacement since they are cracked and very bad shape. The issue is whether the original design, leading...
