I have an Ericson 26 that I launch and retrieve from a trailer. One of the previous Owners removed the bow eye from the boat as they craned it in and out. I am looking for any information on a replacement eye/ eyebolt that I can use to retrieve the boat and stabalize the bow on the trailer...

I've always assumed that the bow eye must have quite a lot of lateral strength as it is frequently used to winch my Ericson 25 on and off the trailer, albeit asssisted by the fact that the boat is floating. But I've now come across images on the internet where a boat is raised vertically...

Hi - just brought my new old '74 E25 (#137) home and I'm in the process of getting it ready for the water. I'm moving up from a Hunter 23 (it's for sale btw) and so far I'm impressed by the increased quality of the Ericson. Seems like a much stronger boat with better quality of finish...

Just wondering - why do big boats put a Cunningham Eye in their mainsails? Surely you can achieve the same effect by just tensioning and easing the halyard (cant usually do that on a dinghy because it is cleated off and no winches). Cheers, Roger Kingston, ON Starlight II E38 200

The bow eye on my e-25 was snaped off before I bought the boat. It appears to have had only one bolt. I think I will replace it with a 'U' shaped bow eye. Can anyone offer any advice or special instructions.
