    2nd Cruising Completed To Toronto.

Well this is a banner season for our boat that was always sail ready but not quite there for cruising until recently. We added a bimini to the list for next season and likely replacing the old spray hood it came with.Much to the demise of our older son who hates anything non-racey.We left...

Icebox/Refrigeration on Ericson Yachts [Master Thread]

I just installed a conversion on our 36RH which really only had one spot for it.Iimagine you may have more choice in the 38? We don't need to freeze things but have read at highest setting it will freeze. It runs so nice and quiet. On this boat the insulation around the ice box was 3". Will put it...

    Bermuda

Awesome news.I worked there when much younger .Took wife there in Oct. for our 20th.When I bought our boatmy old boss(now friend) asked if I was going to sail her there.Bit ambitious until I retire. The boat would sure require some additional obvious measures . Who knows maybe some day we get out...

    Ice Box Conversion in Progress

Added a Scircco 11 fan and it is super, tucks out of the way and 360°of function.Three speed settings and even a timer. Having circulation will certainly help sleep etc.Tied into an old reading light and since my cabin lights have their own switch the fan can run alone on breaker. What else? New...

    Ice Box Conversion in Progress

Well since it seems we are getting the cruising bug this idea is well received from the provisional Admiral. After doing a 2 niter in summer heat(for Lake Ontario), the ice box with 3 bags didn't make it to the last night really. So whether we are just sitting at home port plugged in full time or...

Navtec Backstay adjuster problem Ericson 35-3

I had my seals replaced professionally and could have gone to any truck centr or hydraulic shop and had done cheaper.I went to a truck/ heavy equipment shop last summer and they made a new 8ft line for me with the fittings for 100 bucks Canadian. So happy with Genoa looking proper. John

    New headliner, re bed ports

I had to do tedious x cut for nut /bolts that protruded. For deck organizers I made a slice that runs the length of them but cut small circles around the acorn nuts. For the genny track numerois ones Iwill leave a gap the whole way the width of the square washers.Only 1.5 inches will be exposed...

    New headliner, re bed ports

Yes adhesive to foam then to vinyl and of course the coach roof. But you can adhere the foam to ceiling first which I also did.The below side deck were in Ottertex as pictured pre sprayed in my shop.

    New headliner, re bed ports

Must say I am happy with the result Sanded, sprayed and rolled KILZ primer.Used 3M77 to adhere foam to vinyl. Tough to hold and mold the fabric in place with a large piece by yourself. Foam from flooring roll and marine vinyl leather look.Did the main cabin in 2 halves.Still to add mahogany...

    Re-bedding main hatch

Yepper they are closer to Kingston Ontario now they used to have a smelting operation near downtown Toronto believe it or not.The opening ports are heavy duty but not the friendliest to install with our angled cabin shape. They don't drain well and have to be wiped after a rain. I will post...

    Re-bedding main hatch

Hi Christian? The rubber seal is from open hatch side for when it closes down to deck frame below. It had glue holding it and a permanent groove overtimefrom being too tight when locked. Watching Boatworks I cant get DOW 795 here in Canada unless I buy a case of 12. I have butyl, 4200 and an auto...
