    1989 E34

Chandelle is being offered for sale for $65,000, very reluctantly. Age and physical limitations are catching up to me quickly. She has all North sails, 150 on Harken furling, full batten main with EZ Jax and G3 Gennaker with Ericson logo. Hard dodger. Chart plotter/echosounder, LCD radar...

Replacement of Cabin Sole [Master Thread]

SEA Boat Show You should have looked at the Morris 48. The most beautifully finished wood work I have ever seen even compared to Hinkleys. Obviously a bargain at $1.2 million!

North or South of the Border Why or Why Not

Port Townsend Are you sure that you cannot clear Customs in Port Townsend? I was fueling at the Public Marina (not Pt. Hudson) two years ago and just ahead of the fuel dock was a Customs dock.

    Trip Planning, South to Olympia

South to Olympia You should have no problem, Loren. On Sun. , Nov. 11 the Narrows is at low slack at 1306. Therefore, you should be able to ride a flood all the way to Olympia. In any case, the tides during the day are Neap so the Max. current is only 1.8 to 2.1K.

    Puget Sound: South: Colvos Passage?

Colvos Passage I nearly always use Colvos Passage for Olympia to Seattle transits, but isn't it much longer from Tacoma than taking the East passage? From Tacoma to the SW end of VashonIs. seems a long way out of the way.

    Need Advice on which Model????

Trucking Sailboats I talked with someone in the Gulf Islands who had shipped a So Cal sailboat to B.C. and he saved more than a thousand dollars by having it launched in Puget Sound.

Any advice on best dinghy for exploring the bays?

Dinghy I'll second Stuart's comment on the 8ft. Aquapro RIB. The aluminum bottom makes it much lighter than fiberglass. I have an 8hp Yamaha 2 cycle and it planes very fast with two persons. It stows easily on the foredeck. I had it on an earlier Islander 28 and now on our E34. I see lots of...

Dive Services I have a diver clean the bottom and inspect/replace shaft and prop zincs every six months in Olympia on Puget Sound.

    Dinghy Outboards

Try to find a used Yamaha 8hp two cycle. Very reliable and light weight. As mentioned earlier, two cycles may be phased out in spite of minimal pollution due to 100:1 oil mix. I may even buy a second one to mothball for future use.

    Wind Instruments

I give up on the Standard Horizon. Rigger went up the mast last week and reinstalled the masthead unit which had checked out O.K. and replaced tne in-mast wiring cable down to a junction box in the headliner. It still shows wind direction but zero windspeed.
