    Ericson 32-3 or 35-3 1985-1989 wanted

Not sure it’s legit, but there’s a 1985 32-3 on the Ericsson owners Facebook group. Pictures look too good to be true, at least for their 26K price.

32-3 owners, where's your battery charger?

Ooooops, I meant starboard locker, not lazarette. Same location as Bruce’s.

32-3 owners, where's your battery charger?

Charger location Geoff, My charger is mounted in the location you are proposing, low and forward in the starboard lazarette. It was there when I bought Valkyrie and I haven’t had any reason to relocate it. I do not have a water heater, so there is no conflict with space there.

    E32-3 - Bulkhead seam?

Seems to me that if it was due to flexing there would be an obvious crack top to bottom. I wouldn’t worry about it, but would keep an eye on it to see if it changes at all.

Universal M25 - black soot on water after startup

I believe Christian identified my issue. We only motor in and out of the marina, and at low rpm, seldom over 1500. I am bound to be building up soot and possibly carbon. May need to pay more attention to running the motor a bit more often.

Universal M25 - black soot on water after startup

I’m curious about this too, as my m25 does this also. Seems to me it occurs more when weather is cool. Motor starts and runs fine, so I haven’t done any investigating. My fuel is now 2 years old so I am thinking old fuel may be a factor?

Please do! I would be happy to show you around and get in a little bit of sailing! I’m hoping to get Valkyrie launched by April 1, been a long cold winter.

    Just saying hello.......

Welcome Happy to hear from another land locked Ericson owner! We are a couple of hours north of you, just west of Wichita on Lake Cheney. Besides our 32-3, there is a 29 and a 28+ here at the Ninnescah Sailing Association. Look us up if you ever have a reason to be in Wichita, and welcome to...

Diaphragm pump under helmsman's seat - stupid idea?

Anti siphon loop Bruce, my discharge line already had the loop in place so I left it there when I installed the diaphragm pump. It probably doesn’t serve any real purpose but I don’t see a downside either, and it was there.

Diaphragm pump under helmsman's seat - stupid idea?

I haven’t given much (enough?) thought to the boat sinking. All of the problems I have seen are the result of water intrusion, down the mast, up the rudder tube, etc. So my primary concern has been keeping the bilge empty during the rainy season. After reading some of this thread I may need to...

Diaphragm pump under helmsman's seat - stupid idea?

Bruce, Here are a couple of pics of my bilge pump install. I used one of the existing hoses running aft, inserted the pump where the hose exits the covered channel, left the anti-siphon loop, and ran it out the thru hull. One of the features of the Whale 320 is the head unit will rotate to...

Diaphragm pump under helmsman's seat - stupid idea?

Whale 320 pump Bruce, sorry I don't have any pictures, but I will be going down to the boat tomorrow and will take some. The pump I used is a Whale Gulper 320 high capacity pump, got it at Hodges Marine for $137. The strum box is a Whale water systems top entry box with built in check valve...
