Need to part with 1971 Ericson 32

Hi Gene She is a good looking boat. We might be interested. We sold our E29 this year and were hoping to move up to an E39. We haven't found a local E39 yet, and are not sure about making a decision on something long distance. So we may go to a smaller boat - less cost, less risk. Also, I have...

Hi Art. My wife and I are in the same boat you are, except with no boat....We sold our 29 and are looking in the range of 38-39. At first we looked in the 35 foot range and viewed a 35 footer we really liked. It may not fit what you are looking for, but if interested google Nest Egg Marina...

    Advice needed on E39

Thanks Harvey This is a good start. I am over a 1,000 miles from the boat and will need to spring for an airline ticket as well as a surveyor. Right now I am trying to gather information to know what questions to ask before doing either.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns =...

    Advice needed on E39

Sold my E29 to move up to a bigger boat. Am considering an early 70's E39. Any advice on what to look for, be aware of, etc would be appreciated. When selling my E29, the surveyor said it was best boat he had seen for one that age (77)....that made up for the worse name for a boat -...

1975 E-23 mkII Shoal Draft - Venice, FL

This is one fine boat. We sailed it out in the gulf bay recently. Especially good for a beginner or someone who likes coastal cruising in that part of Florida which is beautiful. Owned by a good skipper too.

Ex-factory guy wants to help you

Thanks again for clarifying about the mizzen mast staying up. I have read about balance, reefing etc on a ketch or yawl and have the basic concepts and difference when running in following seas, etc, but the clarification of keeping the mizzen mast up help. At this stage of my sailing, I prefer...

droning is good Thanks again Seth. I appreciate the droning as the learning curve (after 3+ years on the big lake) is still (always?) increasing. Much of what you said I have read and it is good to hear it again for reinforcement. Haven't owned a ketch or yawl so never knew the mast came down...

Cost to Ship an Ericson 32 over land

crew or self made trailer Would it be cheaper to higher someone to sail the boat to Houston - say if it came from the east coast or gulf coast? Or perhaps you have a specific one from another part as mentioned earlier. Randy R might comment on this. He has a trailer for his E29 he uses. Has...

yawl poop Thanks Seth. That helps. It seems if a wave pooped the cockpit, it would destroy the mizzen. I have read stories of pooped boats surviving, but it seems if you were pooped in a yawl, the destroyed mast would render the boat nearly unrecoverable, and lessen chance of surviving...
