I noticed you replaced your traveler. What make is it? My E30+ traveler has a 3:1 ratio and needs a winch to adjust. I also question my boom and if its reasonable to raise it 12 inches to fit a dodger. I plan to sail to Mexico next year and am making updates/modifications.

I have the opposite problem. My E30+ has too low of a boom and I want to raise it 12 inches and shorten its length. Any thoughts?

My E30+ would never fit a dodger. I'm debating whether raising it would be a good idea. The gooseneck has 8 bolts that can be tap&drilled at a higher location on the mast. I would also need to shorten the boom and have a new sail made, which I need to replace anyway. What are your thoughts?

I have a 1985 E30+ #697. How did you determine 88 degrees for your boom and did you need to shorten the mainsail leech? My boom seems to be really large and low, I thought raising and shortening it would help, especially since I mainly cruise, going to Mexico next year.

Thanks.Since my sails are blown out and will be replaced I think a total redesign with a shortened headsail will be good. I can raise the gooseneck and redo the running rigging, but need to get the sailmaker to calculate the best fit.

I have a 1985 E30+ and feel that the boom sits too low. It literally comes just above my pedestal and I believe is designed for an E32 or E35. Has anyone else countered this problem and have you raised the boom and cut the mainsail down?
