I'm a new owner and have not lowered my mast either. But guys at my sail club have told me the easiest way to do this is to pull my boat into an empty slip and use halyards from boats on either side to lower the mast. Our club is kind of small...only 5 docks....maybe 75 boats...but everyone...

Our local sail club has an extension like described....and this is a fairly small club. You may be able to find one that you could borrow. Our's has a set of 6" wheels under the end with the trailer ball. The wheels don't touch the ramp when attached to the boat, but makes it easier to move...

I have not noticed any leaking into the shelf area of my V-Berth. But, that could be the cause of this initial failure, and the problem might just reappear. Thanks for that comment. I want to make sure I don't have a leak before I redo this area. Also, thanks for the comment about the spray...

The white vinyl lining in the back of my V-Berth shelves is damaged, removed, and not re-usable. Any ideas of a replacement material and where to get it? Also maybe someone can offer suggestions on how to install this material. Thanks in advance. Mg
