I was doing a bottom job on my '85 Ericson 30+ boat when a former Ericson owner stopped by and wondered if I had lengthned the rudder. I did not think about it much at the time, because both the rudder and shaft hole show no signs of stress, but now it has me wondering if any ill conceived mods...

Not sure if your 32 is the same as my 30+, but this same thing happened to me. If you remove the binnacle mounted compass and look down the hole, you will see that there a tension adjustment screw to tighten the shank of the throttle lever. That should do the trick. Ken E "Miss Taz"...

I have a 1985 E30+ with a wire to rope halyard that needs replacing. I would like to replace with an all rope version, but am unsure if I would also need to re-size the sheave on the original masthead. Read a similar question/response about an E27, but the rig is substantially different...

Looking for advice on repairing a slight crack at the keel to hull joint on a 1984 Ericson 30+. Heard conflicting info from a few boatyards. Should I drop the keel and rebed, or glass over, or ..... Any advice would be appreciated!
