    35-III Restoration

Bilge pumps Joe, I replaced both of my DC bilge pumps a couple of years ago. They were located in the engine compartment, mounted on the bulkhead on the galley side. One was for the main bilge, with the on/off switch on the DC power panel. The other was for the show bilge located in...

    Babies on board!

Babies on board I say, they are never to young. I had my first out at 4 weeks old and my youngest out at 2 weeks old. I will add that it is going to depend how comfortable you and your wife feel. We didn't go out with strong winds or anything thing like that. My girls are 6 and 8 now and...

    Bilge pump replacement

Pump replacement Peter, I had the same problem as you and the same pumps. After much research I replaced both the shower and bilge with FLO-JET pumps. They mount in the same location as the old Wilcox pumps did. Here are links to them: Bilge Pump...

leak at ER 35 III cabintop Guard

Hi, I hate to say how it's on there, I just ran a bead of silicon around the opening and stuck the teak down, I did cut it to fix. I really had forgotten all about it. I had planned to screw it down, but never got around to it. I didn't see a need to use the box because everything goes back...

leak at ER 35 III cabintop Guard

Hi, same problem too. I traced mine to the dorade pocket. I was getting water inside the cabin above the starboard side port light. I ended up making a teak cover for the top of the dorade to cover up the opening in the middle of the two vents. I did this in the spring of 2001 and have not...

    Varnish removal

Funny, I am using "plan B" on an old window that my wife got on eBay, it works great. On my boat I'm not sure what is on the teak, now that I read your replay it might be Cetol. When I remove all of what ever is on I will be using Teak oil. I found that 3 or 4 coats of Tropical Teak...

    Varnish removal

I am looking for advice on what to use to remove varnish from the grab rails on the outside of my coach roof and on my sterncap. The varnish that is on there has pealed in placed and the bare teak is showing. I tried a little sanding, but it doesn't seem to be getting the stuff in the grain...

    E35-3 Flasher

Hi Steve, I was looking at the photo of your boat and had a question. Is that a solar vent forward of the dorade on the port side? If so is it located in the shower? Thanks :)

    rudderstock

On Mean Jean, I re-did my rudder bearing with West System. I was going to replace the bronze bearing but decided not to. Anyway, I took my rudder out and miced the shaft, it had a 4" O.D. I'm not sure but I think your 38 may have the same DIA. shaft.

    Heater Hoses - M25

Sean, I have an M40 in Mean Jean, when I removed my Raritan water heater this spring for servicing I remember that my lines were 1/2" dia. I.D. The closed loop cooling system does circulate thru the hot water tank. I haven't seen a problem with this setup.

    Refrigerator on a E35-3

Thanks, I've seen the wiring rolled up there and was wondering if that was where the compressor went. I have CNG on Mean Jean and the tank sits on the outboard shelf in the starboard cockpit locker, I'll have to work around that if I decide to install a refrigerator. One other...

    Refrigerator on a E35-3

Hi, I am investigating installing Refrigeration on my E35-3. I had a few question for my fellow E35-3 owners who have installed or purchased the boat with a refrigerator as an option. 1. Which cooler do you have it installed in, small or large one? 2. Where is or did you install...

    Leaking mast

Went down to the boat today to find a bilge full of water, boat main and shower bilge. We had very heavy rain showers last night. I noticed this last year when I got the boat that there was water around the mast step in the main cabin. After inspecting the mast boot I found it was dry as a...
