We had Spurs installed several years ago and they work very well. Don't try it yourself as it's a boatyard job. Remember the small anodes need to be change every couple of years.

We had the boatyard put on linecutters called Spurs several years ago. Work very well, but I wouldn't try to do install them myself, very tricky. Also need to replace the zincs that they come with every year or so.

On a E-35 Mk III does anyone have an idea why two of the scupper drain hoses go to a "T" and then go to a below the water line through hull to drain? Doesn't seem to make sense that they would drain below the water line. This is in the context of winter storage in the water.

Curious how many of you pull your mast for winter storage? On our '83 E35, Mk III we always do. The thought being that leaving it up doesn't do the mast step any good as the boat is not free to move in the water and you you can inspect it for possible problems.

Lifeline Replacement
I'd stick with stainless wire, which we replace every few years. If you want to go with rope I'd think of kevlar, stronger than nylon and it doesn't give.

We've had a Raymarine E-80 for the past several years and are very happy with it. It's more expensive than what your looking at but they make other models more in your price range. It's mounted on the pedestal above the compass. I believe that they now come with pre-loaded...
Main Halyard Problem
With all the choices in halyards out there you certainly don't want to go back to wire to rope. Assume that you are running the halyard thru a Spinlock or something similar which should help. Try talking with the people at Annapolis Performance Sailing, they're very...
We have a E-35, Mark III. Over the winter one or more of the 4 cockpit drain hoses froze and I'm assuming burst. Result was a very wet bilge which we've been pumping out. The hoses and connections are anything but easy to get at. Any suggestions on repairing them?
Many thanks,
John...
