Hi Everyone,
We are sad to be selling our 1983 Ericsson 35-3 'Spirit'. We simply do not have enough time to use her. She is currently in the water in South Portland ME. She has a very reliable Universal Diesel M25 and "Good condition cruising sails". We have done well in local cruising...
I am interested in a good used headsail preferrably a racing sail or close qualtity with little use. Maybe their is someone out there who races seriously and has recently replaced their sails after only a few seasons, or someone who doesn't use their full size sail anymore might be interested...
I am looking for an original copy of the E35-III brochure featured here. I recently purchased a boat that I believe was featured in the pictures. Thanks in advance

I spent the whole day on the boat. I am convinced it's the same boat. The lettering of spirit with the underline as well as the distinctive "linked" O's in Old Saybrook are identical. The four instruments on the port side are the same. We have the racing package as Tim described. I am curious...
Hi Everyone,
My wife and I purchased Spirit, a 1983 E35-III in the fall. We havent even sailed her yet but are very excited as we get ready to launch tomorrow. I have been doing some fairly extensive work over the last few months to get her ready. Some of the work is described in other...

In addition to everything else going on, I also have the same core issue in the area of the hole for the anchor locker lid handle. I still cant believe anyone thought this was a good idea.
Project underway
So far:
I removed the anchor pan. Much easier than I thought. It appears this had never been done before making the removal fairly straight forward. I removed the screws and pushed up from below with steady force until it popped up and out.
Several issues became very clear...
Can anyone confirm for me that the raised flange that the hatch mounting trim ring screws into does not have a wooden core material. I am assuming this area was built without the core material. I am planning to rebed my forward hatch and need to know if I have to epoxy plug the screw holes...
Our "new to us" E35III has the 42" wheel. I can tell its bent. It work fine, but as I rotate the wheel it puts more or less pressure on the wheel mounted Autohelm ST4000. The flex or deflection appears to be about 1/2" at its maximum. The AP works fine.
What do you think? Is there a way...
