Without seeing a wiring diagram I can't say for sure this would work, but the ideal situation would be to wire the glow plug relay to the accessory and run positions of the "ignition" switch--if the switch has an accessory position. This way the glow plugs could be heated in the accessory...

You could also drill them out. I believe they are #10 screws, so a 5/32 bit will drill the head off without any damage to the frame. If they are #8, use a 9/64 bit. The ones on my boat are Phillips head, which makes centering the drill bit really easy.
