New head and holding tank, will this sink my boat?

Thanks for looking into that diagram again to clarify. I think the rigid PVC pipe should be no problem as my brother-in-law owns a plumbing company in town here, and he is a wizard with that stuff. As for the base of the tank being above the max heeled waterline, I don't think mine will make...

Good thinking Gordon. I think I will do the same.

    transducer location?

Well I pour the expoxy "footing" that the transducer will sit on (just to keep it level) and will put it in and some more epoxy to hold it in tomorrow. Unfortunately I won't be able to see if it works until the boat is in the water....sigh Thanks for your input =) Michael.

New head and holding tank, will this sink my boat?

Thanks for both responses PDX and Vanfuego, As for the portapotty, we had one for a few years and I am wanting to try something new (tired of carrying the full tank aft for a dumping). This may be more trouble in th long run and potentially messier though. We'll see. As for turning the head...

    rebuilding the foredeck

I will be using a different kind of bag to get the old skin to adhere. A bag of sand, or rather, many bags of sand. I think the weight of the sand will be enough to get the old skin to bond, the under side is good and rough and if I get it on while the epoxy underneath is still 'green' it should...

New head and holding tank, will this sink my boat?

Yeah maybe that vent scoop would be too much, I was thinking a larger vent would be better to keep the air moving into the tank. Maybe I could just put two standard 5/8" vents in place to get a cross breeze. As for the pump out, would a Y valve below the tank do it and the discharge line do it?

    rebuilding the foredeck

I thought I would share a picture of the progress on our 1969 E26 renovation. We dug out the old, mostly rotten balsa core and replaced it with marine plywood. The plan for the next few days is to get some fibreglass back on it and then put the original top skin back in place. Michael.

New head and holding tank, will this sink my boat?

I have attached the PDF of my proposed design, which is a slightly modified version of Don Casey's "newtonian discharge" design. Do you think this will work? And keep the ocean and poop out of my boat? Thanks in advance, Michael.

    transducer location?

Thanks Roscoe, that is a great looking transducer. At this point however, I am looking to avoid putting in another through-hull. And I think that it will work fine now that I know the hull is a solid layup, albeit a thick one! Michael.

    transducer location?

OK, I read through your last response and found "So I glued the transducer to the inside of the hull on centerline under the front part of the cockpit." Does this mean you glued it just behind the keel then? I take it the centerline equidistant from the keel and the rudder is a good spot...

    transducer location?

I have a 1969 e26 and am armpit deep in overhauling the whole boat it seems. At this time I am looking for a place to install a transducer inside the boat against the hull. Has anyone had any success with installing a transducer against the hull using epoxy? At the moment I am unsure if the hull...
