Adding a portlight/window to cockpit seating to illuminate quarter berth E-32

Yeah I started but never finished the project that I started that other thread on. Simply have not gotten to it. (A couple of years ago, I was working on other boats, and was paying someone to work on my boat simultaneously, in the same yard, work that I can easily accomplish myself). The other...

prospective mods on my new E29

I don't know, think about it Randy. At least one bottle should be kept there, due to the fact that once you have accessed that area, you deserve a drink..

It IS a functionless hole back there. I virtually had to dig my way back through the quarter berth to access it. Seems a great spot for propane. Maybe the liquor locker..

Randy, I measured the tank at 9 inches tall, 20 inches fore to aft, and 28 1/2" wide. The P.O. glassed in a small shelf to sit it on, and it all looks fairly simple. it is offset a little to the starboard side for the filler neck, which is big time convenient for measuring fuel with a dip stick.

Yeah Randy, give me a minute and I will take comprehensive photos, and measurements as well. My tank will carry 21 gallons according to the math, and it will just BARELY squeeze in and out of the cockpit locker, (I've had it out and cleaned). The fill is on the starboard seating area in the...

Randy, my fuel tank is right in front of the rudder post, and holds 21 gallons according to the math. Tight squeeze, I've had it out and cleaned. And that port side access under the drawers.....I think you might find a small bulkhead right at the transition point between drawers and the seat...

share on Ericson 27 in Marina del Rey

You know, here's another idea while I'm thinking on it.. Go out on a sail with him. By the time a short shakedown is done, typically, you learn about someone's boat lernins.. just another thought.

    Keel Damage

If the yard guys says, it will 'just fall out', I would be in question of how they apply it. The stuff doesn't just FALL off, or NObody would use it..

yacht specialties specs/manual to asist wheel removal

I pulled a wheel last year that required a three jaw puller. Straight shaft no less. It was crazy, man. I've pulled camshaft gears with less trouble. That wheel creaked and popped the whole way off, not just the initial pop. Cleaned it up, and a little drop of my favorite grease, Superlube, and...

    Pink plexiglass

Yes, a swinging door REQUIRES a removable hinge. I would never do it with a fixed version..

    Pink plexiglass

Here is another version that is very easy. 1/4" plexi, 1/2" wood strips varnished on, an hour maybe. This was supposed to be temporary, but it is still in use. It only slides up a couple of inches and it is out. Or in.

    fuel filters

A 2 micron filter is trouble waiting to happen. The pump and injectors will pass anything under 10 microns, so the additional filtering of the two micron is pointless. Fuels are nasty. Regardless of how careful you are, sooner or later a bad batch will happen. If the boat carries two micron...

    Lighten Up the Cabin

The hinges are a two piece design, and they come apart by gentle pressure upwards. That way the whole door can be removed for, well, whatever. The offset is achieved by the small plexi block you can see behind the hinge piece on the door, thereby setting the hatch back into the slots. Every bit...
