    Rounding Up in a Gust

Turn up in the puffs going upwind, down in the puffs going down wind. I know it feels good when the boats super powered up but, she will be alot happier if you reduce a little sail.

    Newport to Ensenada Tragedy

This is still just spectulation. All that the track shows is that the tracker hit the island. It is unlikley to me that the boat would break up that fast, into that small of pieces just by going aground on the north island. We sailed through the slot at about 7:30 or 8 sat morning. The swell was...

    E35-2 lower shrouds

Hull #1 "Aquarius" is at Southwestern YC here in San Diego. She has wooden spreaders, but that is the only diff in rigs I can see. She has for and aft lowers. Not sure when Ericson made the switch to aluminum spreaders as my 73 has them.

Every ounce counts When I started racing my E35-2 it was full of stuff. I lived on the boat as I do now, tons of clothes, big anchors, stuff, stuff and more stuff. I was allways DFL. 1st in Newport to Ensenada 2011

We used every sail I own. Not counting the #3. The daisy went up for about an hour just outside of the coronado islands and alot as a drifter. Crew work was outstanding. 400,000 sail changes with out one misstake.

E35-2 Cimarron, 1st to finish, 1st on corrected time in phrf G. A long, light and shifty race to Ensenada. Only 5 of our 12 starters finished.

    Intake Thru-Hull, Screen or Not?

When I did the bottom back in june we spent 2 weeks fairing the bottom. A lot of hard work. Because we were spraying the paint, it was also expensive. There was a screen on the intake thru hull, this was not fast so I did not replace it. I have a strainer so I wasn't to worried. After 6 months...

    Changing Spinnaker sail numbers

No. There died into the sail cloth. I just dont want to use something that will run real bad or damage the cloth itself.

    Changing Spinnaker sail numbers

Thinking of just blacking out the old numbers w/ some kind of die. Any ideas on what kind to use, or the best way to do it? Thanks Dave.
