Your ways sounds a lot easier... I'm going to have to run this by Peter who's helping us to see why we decided this design. We did not get our keel from Rudder Craft though. More to come.

Hi there! It has not been an easy task. Luckily we found someone who was really good at these kind of repairs. I'm going to attach some pictures and hope they are helpful.

Has anyone experienced this? Any advice? We are not even sure exactly how this keel is designed... We have had a few "professional opinions" about the type of keel and how to handle the situation. The only other owner be purchased it from said that it was a center board keel not a swing keel...

So I should take the line out and untwist it? The boat is currently on a trailer so I don't think I'll lose the keel... It's all new to me.

It's been months since I have posted... The boat is still on the hard. I pulled the cover off of the centerboard post. Thank you for all the tips on how to put it back on without damaging anything. I'm adding pictures with this because I'm wanting to make sure the line inside this compartment...

One thing I am kind of concerned about, is on the bow of the boat. I took the panel off the front in the v berth and their appears to be some damage from what I assume would have been an anchor chain that is lowered from the top deck into the storage compartment. That is color from the outside...

I have pulled all the cushions out because I want to clean them. I have searched the interwebs and get conflicting information. Is it best to just take this to an upholstery cleaner? Or can I clean the cushions and an industrial washer as long as I don't dry it and then take the covers to a cleaner?
