1972 E27 in New Orleans
Got this about 2 years ago. Still 'under construction' but usable. Hull #61.

I agree with everybody who said this is a fuel issue.
I too took an unknown non running atomic 4 and returned it to working order.
First my points were badly adjusted. They were WAY too far open. This prevented a bright blue strong spark.
Then my fuel tank had a hole in it.
Then the...
Just had my E27 out on Lake Pontchartain in New Orleans, using only the 130% front sail(no main sail).
According to Navionics on my cell, the boat got up to 6.5 knots max on that trip. Was wondering if that was a decent speed for the situation or not.
How much for the cabin top sliding hatch?
Keeping in mind you list as being from Canada...
Almost hate to ask how much shipping to New Orleans LA would be.
Follow up.
All floor engine bolts back in place. Everything reattached.
installed pertronix ignition kit.
Engine cranks and runs well.
Trans works fwd and reverse.
On to the next issue.
Replaced badly worn water pump impeller.
Reinstalled the original coupling and original shaft key.
Tied the pinch bolt down with heavy copper wire so it can't back out.
Got the engine back in place but have a few bolts that don't line up with their holes.
Fixable, just called it a day.
Ok, I'm an idiot.
Was about to post a photo showing the size of the hole in the coupling, that it was 3/4".
The only problem is that I'm using a printed ruler and I didn't start at zero. Started at the edge of the paper.
Starting at zero, the coupling hole is 7/8".
The Moyer part for a 7/8"...
Ran into a problem after placing a parts order from Moyer Marine.
The original coupling is 3/4" opening for the shaft. Repeatedly measured, of this I'm sure.
The key that it uses is 1/4" square rod.
I know this because I bought a 3/16" key and it was too small.
Swapped the 3/16" key for a...
That actually dawned on me at some point, that bad things could have happened. Was backing into the dock after a run, when it let go.
Perhaps thats the actual reason for the short prop shaft key...so it disengages before the shaft backs all the way out?
Going to change the water pump impeller...
Latest update
Part 1 of the issue, besides access, was heat.
So I got the bright idea to go work on the boat at night.
Also put an air condition unit in the door frame while I was there.
Issue solved..
Part 2 went like this.
Leaning over the motor, I cut away part of the back engine box...
I thought about cutting the back wall, but not in conjunction with laying on top the motor.
Was contemplating removing the tank and going in thru that area.
But I see where this will work.
Input MUCH appreciated.
I did find the 'pinch bolt' thru the coupling to the shaft is missing.
Also the...
Terandon, your photo is what I have worked with before on my other boat and hope thats how it is.
I'll put a light down there and see what I have to work with.
Again everyone, sincere thanks for your input.
I know if I have to pull the coupling off to replace the key, it will be a b_itch.
Just paid a diver to inspect the prop under the boat. Nothing underwater unusual found. Nothing tangled in the prop(doesn't mean something didn't get caught and fall away).
Prop is in correct position and tightly bolted to the shaft.
As a courtesy, he helped locate the issue after coming...
