    E28+ maximum speed

Gary, We also have a 1983 E28+ but with a fixed blade prop. We typically power at 5 knots and find this to be the ideal without starting to approach overheating. On occassions we have gone as high as 5.5 knots, but that is the exception to the rule. Bernard

    E28 Characteristics

E - 28 We have an E-28+ and like it a lot. I'm not sure about the model years. From what I've found out, they were in production from 1980 - 1984, which doesn't match your 1990 year, with hull numbers from 501 - 594. Are you sure it's a 28? I think you meant to type 38s and not 28s. If it...

    Fuel Flow

We have the same boat and year, gave up on the gauge and use a stick. I guesstimate 1 gallon per two hours of running time. This has kept be pretty close the last two years. Bernard E28 andiamo

    Where's the transmission oil dipstick?

Dip Stick We have the same model and engine. If you go to marinedieseldirect.com/universal/200157, you'll find an on line catalogue of the engine that includes a neat diagram showing the location of all of the various parts, including the transmission dip stick.

EY.c Future: Is EY.c a 'useful' site? How could we improve it?

Keep It Going We purchased our 1983 E-28 three years ago. As a novice sailor this site proven to be a good reference point. I go along with everyone else and would be willing to pay an annual dues to keep it up and running. Bernard Sangenito, E-28 Andiamo.

    E28+ listing to starboard

E-28+ Listing To Starboard Gary, I'm not sure about mast alignment, there are more than likely others out there who are better qualified. We had a similiar situation with out 28+, but the circumstances are slightly different. In addition to the water tank and the waste tank, we have an...

    Tiller-to-wheel conversion on a 28

We also have a 1983 E-28 that the PO changed over to a wheel. Personally, from my experience I wish he hadn't. I've often thought about doing the reverse, taking out the wheel and installing a tiller. If you go to Specs & Documents, you will find the manaul for the E-28. There is are two...

    What Makes an E-28 + ?

Jim, We have a 1983 Ericson 28+, Hull 558. When we purchased it, our surveyor (who knew Ericson's) assured us it was a 28+. According to the Ericson manual: "The first three letters "ERY" designate the manufacturer, Ericson Yauchts. The next two numbers "28" designate the model and the...
