I've been designing and building brushless dc electric motors for over ten years. My current project is an autonomous vehicle for TARDEC, the Mattracks T4. I started Advanced Marine in 2009, building direct-drive sealed brushless DC motors to replace aging inboards in sailboats up to 35 ft. Our Ericson 27 demo boat is wonderful. Quiet, no fuel or exhaust stink, and free "fuel" every time we find shore power. Service-free as well, a nice bonus...
